My favourite tips and tricks for communicating a strong sense of brand on your website!
Web design 101. Let’s chat all things branding and websites. Specifically, I have pulled together a checklist for how I would recommend you implement your branding online. This is for you if you have recently received new branding, have a new brand vibe and are ready to align your website to it, or simply want to improve your branding on your current website. Having a website that matches your social media and is consistent with your brand builds customer awareness and minimises any confusion when customers are looking for your business online. So let’s give your website some extra love and freshen things up.
Here’s a wee checklist to guide you as you work through your website:
Page Header
Update your logo and header colour to align with your new branding
Check all your pages are clearly named and easy to read in the navigation bar.
Colours
Use an accent colour for your call-to-action web buttons
Change the background colour of your pages and panels to match your new colour palette. Feel free to use your brand colours as blocks through your website to split up the content.
To break things up it can be nice to alternate between background colours for different website sections. To would advise alternating between a softer tone and a bolder one.
Check that your text colour is visible and easy to read. You could also use a different brand colour for headings to help these stand out.
Imagery
Update your images to align with your new branding
Make sure your images are clear but resized to fit your web page (otherwise this will affect your site speed!)
Choose images that create an emotional response in your audience
Aligned copy
Refresh your web copy to make sure your words communicate your values and unique business proposition
Keep your copy clear, concise and to the point
Remove any excess copy that isn't serving you
Page Footer
Make sure to update your logo in the footer too
Check that all the links in your footer are working and that your contact is correct
I hope you found this checklist helpful. Let me know if you have any questions!
